An Epic 2 Day Adventure with ATV, Rafting and Trekking

This amazing overnight adventure allows you to escape from the city and spend the night in an indigenous Lahu village. You’ll experience 3 fun activities: ATV, rafting and trekking and a stunging village stay with views overlooking the valley.

After arriving at our basecamp in Mae Taeng we’ll enjoy a welcome safety briefing and training for ATV. We’ll then begin our ATV tour which is a combination of off road and on road driving through Thai countryside and local villages. Depending on road conditions and drivers ability ATV riders can drive all the way to our accommodation on top of the mountain, for others we’ll park the ATVs and continue in a 4×4. It is the only road to the village and during the rainy season can be quite the adventure.

When we arrive, we have a bamboo hut that is on the side of the mountain. The views here are stunning. We’ll prepare a delicious dinner for you and after stargazing and sitting around a fire you’ll sleep peacefully.

The next morning we’ll have a traditional Thai breakfast and embark on an epic trek down the mountainside, crossing several waterfalls and experiencing great views. This trek is approximately 7 km and takes about 4.5 hrs, mostly downhill. We’ll arrive at our basecamp in time for lunch before enjoying a rafting trip.

Our signature 10 km Mae Taeng rafting trip delivers sustained Class III–IV action, beginning with a short transfer from camp to Sop Kai village, a safety briefing, and a lively 3 km stretch of Class III rapids through lush jungle before you reach the main Class IV drop. The upper river offers warm-up features and striking scenery, then the energy spikes as guides coordinate the descent and all boats commit to a nonstop Class IV run, finishing with paddle high-fives at the bottom. The adventure continues with more Class III waves and a scenic glide back to 8Adventures camp, where you may even spot an elephant along the river.

Once you finish at our camp, you can grab a shower before we take you back to the city.
